ESIC Bans 37 Coaches for Spectator Bug Abuse

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has released the first report on the large-scale investigation into the historical abuse of a spectator bug in official CS:GO matches. The commission has already reviewed 25,000 demos and accused 37 coaches of using the bug for their advantage. Among them former FaZe Clan coach and their current manager Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström, former Natus Vincere coaches Sergey "starix" Ischuk and Andrey "Andi" Prokhorov, and current OG coach Casper "ruggah" Due.

The commission has developed a standardized method to determine the sanctions against the abusers, which accounts for the frequency and duration of abuse. Besides that, coaches were able to reduce the ban period by confessing in wrongdoing and assisting in the investigation. It was also noted that there is no way to tell whether the players were aware of their coach abusing the bug. The list of affected coaches looks as follows:

The commission is planning to analyze another 75,000 demos, however they noted that the already reviewed demos comprised the most substantial cases of abuse, so they estimate that the investigation will be over by the end of October. Besides that, the evidence of bug abuse was found in only 0.1% of reviewed demos. The accused coaches can still appeal the decision.

Earlier this month ESL announced the ban of Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen from Heroic, Ricardo "dead" Sinigaglia from MIBR, and Aleksandr "MechanoGun" Bogatiryev from Hard Legion. Later VALVE decided to reset RMR-points of MIBR and Hard Legion.
